Your Australian Consumer Law Rights Are Preserved
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Any voluntary warranty described below is in addition to, and does not limit, these consumer guarantees. The benefits of a voluntary warranty are separate from and additional to your statutory rights.
You may pursue a remedy under the consumer guarantees even if a voluntary warranty period has expired, provided the goods have not lasted a reasonable time given their type, price and use.
Voluntary Warranty Cover
Many products carry a voluntary warranty from us or the manufacturer covering defects in materials and workmanship for a stated period. The applicable period and terms are shown on the product page, packaging or accompanying documentation.
Under the voluntary warranty, we or the manufacturer will, at our option, repair or replace goods found to be defective within the warranty period, or supply equivalent goods where the original is unavailable.
Manufacturer warranties may be administered directly by the manufacturer; we can help you make a claim and will direct you to the correct process.
What Is Not Covered by the Voluntary Warranty
The voluntary warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, consumable parts, damage from misuse, accident, neglect, incorrect installation or storage, unauthorised modification or repair, or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and maintenance schedule.
Damage caused by use beyond the product's rated capacity, commercial use of goods sold for domestic use (or vice versa) where stated, and cosmetic wear that does not affect function are also excluded.
These exclusions apply only to the voluntary warranty and do not affect your non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
To claim, contact us at sales@equipdepotau.com or +61 480 844 836 with your proof of purchase, the product details and a description of the fault, including photographs or video where helpful.
We may ask you to return the goods, or arrange inspection or collection for larger items. For faults covered by the consumer guarantees, we will cover the reasonable cost of returning the goods.
You are responsible for any expense of claiming under a voluntary warranty (such as transport for change-of-preference issues), except where the Australian Consumer Law requires us to bear those costs.
